From the recording Songs from the Vault 1985-1995

Like the other songs..I sure wish I had the original 12 track recording of this so that I could get rid of the cheesy programmed drums. Listening back, I remember I was going through a stage where I didn't trust my own ability to hear pitch. Which is why my vocal is glaringly sharp throughout the tune. Ugh. Breaks my heart. I do love the performances of Pedro Miller on the Piano and Robbie Henderson on the guitar, though! And writing with Buddy Jones was a real joy!

Good Time Music
© 1985 Charles “Buddy” Jones/Sol Knopf

If ya don’t know where to go and you’re feeling down
Come to where the party is
Just bring yourself downtown
The band is playing a happy song
To make you wanna sing
They’ll make you feel so good
That you won’t worry ‘bout a thing

CHORUS
Give me that good time music
That makes ya feel so fine
Give me that good time music
Wanna party all the time
I’ll take that good time music
All that rock n roll
Give me that good time music
Well it gets down to your soul

The music and the party lights
Will catch you with a smile
And when you find the feeling’s right
You’ll dance around in style
And just when you think it’s time
The fun is gonna end
The music with it’s happy rhymes
Will turn into your friend

CHORUS
Give me that good time music
That makes ya feel so fine
Give me that good time music
Wanna party all the time
I’ll take that good time music
All that rock n roll
Give me that good time music
Well it gets down to your soul

Just let the music take you
To another place and time
And all the things that bother you
Just leave them all behind
